4 Tips to Help You Save Money
Saving money can have a positive impact on your well-being. From preparing you for emergency situations, to giving you a sense of independence, knowing that you have enough money stashed away is a wholesome feeling.
At the same time, however, spending cash feels as good as saving it, which can leave your wallet (and not least your bank account) lighter than it was before.
Luckily, we’ve got four tips that will help you save your moolah:
Cut the Coffee-Runs
Buying coffee before work every morning can be pretty expensive. Try cutting back on the coffee-runs to only once or twice a week.
Alternatively, make your own coffee before you leave home, or buy beverages from a cafe that offers discounts if you bring your own reusable cup.
Carpool with Your Colleagues
If you want to save up on transportation costs, try carpooling: it’s when you and your work colleagues – if they live near you – travel together in one vehicle towards the same destination. You can also all split the bill for petrol or diesel.
Buy Out of Season
Sure, buying clothes pre-season sounds like a good idea. However, your wallet ends up taking a hard knock because you’re paying a fortune for marked-up items. Rather buy clothing when it’s out of season – that’s when retailers mark down old stock to make way for new stock.
Buy discounted winter clothes in summer and vice-versa. This helps you to save money and look good all season, every season.
Save Your Change
Got some coins in your pocket? Place them inside a glass jar labelled “Spare Change”. Any and all loose change that you have at the end of the day must go into the jar – come the end of the year, you won’t believe how much all those coins add up to!
