Grammy Awards 2018: Winners

January 30, 2018

The 60th annual Grammy Awards, which took place last night in New York City and was hosted by comedian James Corden, was dominated by Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar.

Mars won all six of the awards he was nominated for, including Record of the Year and Album of the year for “24K Magic”, and Song of the Year for “That’s What I Like”.

Lamar, who was expected to win Album of the Year, dominated the rap categories, winning five awards, including Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance.

Jay-Z left the ceremony empty-handed, despite having arrived as the most nominated artist of the night, with eight nods.

Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, Childish Gambino and Pink all performed during the ceremony.

Many celebrities arrived wearing white roses, which have become a symbol to show solidarity with the Me Too and Time’s Up campaigns against sexual harassment.

The emotional highlight of the evening came from Kesha, who gave a powerful performance of her single, “Praying”, which is about her own experience of surviving sexual abuse.

Kesha was backed by an all-star choir, including eighties popstar Cyndi Lauper, who was dressed in white to show support for the white rose campaign.
