Man City Quadruple Cup History on Track
Manchester City remain on course in their pursuit of English football history as they look to take the cup of every competition they have entered in a season.
Guardiola’s team is only left with 15 games to make their quadruple dream come true. No English side has ever won four cups – the Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Champions League – in the same season.
Manchester United won three cups in one season during their 1999 campaign, while Liverpool won two treble cups – in 1984 and 2001.
City have won nineteen games and lost one of their last 20 fixtures in all competitions. Should they continue in that kind of form, then their quadruple history win will be secured.
The Citizens are in the FA semi-finals and are playing against Brighton, who haven’t beaten them since 1989. They’ve also secured a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals and are the favourites.
The eight remaining games in the EPL remain the toughest, but City is currently occupying the second position behind Liverpool and have demonstrated the ability to win it.
