Mesut Ozil Turns Down PSG Offer
Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil, has reportedly turned down a last-minute loan move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Per reports, the 30-year-old German – who has fallen out of favour with coach Unai Emery and started only 13 Premier League games this season – was approached by the French club as a replacement for their injured forward, Neymar.
Neymar has been ruled out of action for 10 weeks after suffering a recurrence of a metatarsal injury in his right foot.
PSG are said to have offered Ozil a £350,000-a-week deal, but he rejected it. The reason behind his decision was because he did not want to be loaned out on short-term by the Gunners.
The deadline for the January transfer window closes tonight, so it’s a matter of waiting and seeing whether Ozil chooses to remain with Arsenal or accept a permanent, lucrative deal with other European teams.
