Gabriel Jesus Signs Contract Extension with City
Gabriel Jesus has signed a new five-year which will see him stay at Manchester City until 2023.
The 21-year-old striker joined the Sky Blues from Brazilian side Palmeiras in January 2017 for an initial fee of £27 million.
The Brazilian international returned to training on Tuesday, after he was given an extended holiday following the FIFA World Cup.
Jesus did not find the net for Brazil in Russia, but did score 13 times in the Premier League last season, helping City to win the title with a record points total.
Under the leadership of Pep Guardiola, City became the first team to ever finish a top-flight campaign with 100 points.
Jesus had this to say about his club: “I can say that it was the best decision I’ve made in my life to come to Manchester City because whilst I’m here I’m improving as a professional and as a person.”
