Taxify Teams up with Google Maps
Taxify announced on Saturday, 6 October, that their customers will now be able to use Google Maps to book their Taxify.
The web mapping app will now display a Taxify tab with information including how close rides are, and the estimated fare and duration.
After selecting Taxify as their ride and tapping on “Open app”, it will proceed to the Taxify app so that users can complete their booking.
Users without the app on their device will be prompted to install Taxify first.
The Taxify and Google Maps partnership launched the innovation on Thursday, 4 October, and is available in over a dozen countries. These include Kenya, Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Iraq, Nigeria, Poland, Mexico, and South Africa.
Taxify General Manager East Africa, Shivachi Muleji, said: “Having Taxify as part of the transit options on Google Maps makes it easy for riders, as it offers them comparisons between estimated arrival times, as well as fare options. This saves them time and money.”
