Leeds United Weighs Up Issouf Sissokho January Transfer
Leeds United are preparing a January swoop for midfielder Issouf Sissokho after tracking him for more than a year.
Whites manager Daniel Farke is eager to bolster his side’s firepower after missing out on key midfield targets during the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old Malian – who previously played for Bordeaux and made nearly 100 appearances for Maccabi Tel Aviv – reportedly favours a switch to Elland Road and is keen to test himself in the English Premier League (EPL).
However, Leeds face mounting competition across Europe. Spanish side Levante have already opened talks with the defensive midfielder’s camp and are readying a formal offer worth approximately €5 million. Meanwhile, Portuguese outfit Braga are also monitoring the situation ahead of the winter window.
With Sissokho under contract until June 2027 – including a club option for a further 12 months – any suitor must negotiate a fee directly with the Israeli club . If Leeds hope to secure the ball-winner and provide Farke with much-needed squad depth for the second half of the season, the Yorkshire club must act decisively when the transfer window opens.
