AC Milan Picks Up Joao Felix in Loan Deal

Joao Felix has completed a loan move from Chelsea to AC Milan until the end of the season, just six months after joining the Blues in a £45 million-deal from Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old Portuguese forward has struggled for regular game time under Enzo Maresca, primarily featuring in cup competitions despite showing glimpses of his talent.

The Italian club will pay a £5 million loan fee and cover Felix’s wages, with reports suggesting the deal includes an option to buy. Aston Villa previously showed interest, but Felix opted for the Serie A club, even attending AC Milan’s derby against Inter Milan before the transfer was finalised.

With Chelsea boasting an array of attacking options, including Cole Palmer, Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, and Noni Madueke, Felix often found himself on the sidelines. While he remains under contract with Chelsea until 2030, his long-term future at the club looks uncertain.

Milan, currently in eighth place in the Italian league, hope the new firepower in their squad can tip the odds in their favour as they enter the Coppa Italia quarter-final against Roma today, Wednesday 5 February, and a Champions League play-off clash against Feyenoord next Wednesday, 12 February.
