Aguero Set to Announce Retirement This Week
Barcelona forward, Sergio Aguero, is reportedly going to officially announce his retirement from football on Wednesday, 15 December, after being diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia.
The Argentine forward was forced off the field during Barcelona’s 1-1 draw against Alaves on Saturday, 31 October, after complaining of chest pains, breathing difficulties, and dizziness.
The Blaugrana are reportedly preparing for his final send off act which will take place the day after Barcelona play a friendly game against Boca Juniors in Saudi Arabia.
The game will be played in honour of Diego Maradona, who passed away on Wednesday, 20 November 2020, and is the grandfather of Aguero’s son,
The news of his premature retirement has broken the hearts of his fans across the globe, however, Aguero’s health is more important.
His former boss, Pep Guardiola, has also advised the 33-year-old striker to put his health first with regards to any decision on his future in football.
