Ajax Winger Joins Manchester United
Manchester United have reportedly struck a deal with AFC Ajax to sign winger Antony.
According to reports, Antony will be undergoing a medical with United within the next 48 hours, after which he is expected to officially sign a contract.
The 22-year-old Brazilian international’s deal is said to be worth £85 million – £80.75 million guaranteed, plus £4.25 million in add-ons – although the length of the contract is not yet known.
News of Antony’s imminent arrival comes after Ajax recently turned down a £67.9-million offer for him from the English club.
It also comes after he expressed his wishes to leave the Eredivisie outfit – with whom he signed in 2020 – in order to ply his trade (and attain more glory) someplace else.
In addition to gaining the winger, the Red Devils have also been keeping tabs on Barcelona’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as well as PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo. However, they have until 11PM this Thursday, 1 September, to sign anyone else before the transfer window closes.
