AKA Shooting: Murder Weapon Found
The South African Police Service (SAPS) have confirmed that they have found the murder weapon used to kill rapper AKA.
Back in February, AKA – real name Kiernan Forbes – was fatally shot by hooded gunmen, alongside his close friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, while leaving a popular restaurant in Florida Road in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. He was 35-years-old.
Now, according to KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkwanazi, the murder weapon has been found.
“We have identified at least one firearm used and positively identified to have shot and killed Mr Forbes,” Mkwanazi commented during a press conference held on Wednesday, 6 September.
Regarding the vehicles used before and after the murders, he added: “We have identified a couple of vehicles that were used. Some of the vehicles were used as getaway [vehicles]. Some were used as spotters. Some may have been used by people after the fact.”
The SAPS are working closely with the National Prosecuting Authority on bringing in potential suspects for questioning in the near future.
