AKA’s Friends, Loved Ones Celebrate Progress in His Case

Friends and loved ones of the late Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, who was professionally known as AKA, were spotted enjoying a night out after authorities announced that there was finally some progress in his murder investigation.

Nadia Nakai, Don Design, and Sim Dope were seen partying it up at La Parada in Johannesburg, Gauteng on Saturday, 26 August, smoking hookah and downing shots of expensive tequila.

Nakai also shared a short clip via Instagram on Sunday, 27 August, of herself performing on stage and looking fly in an oversized jumper and bedazzled glasses.

The group’s outing comes mere days after KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Police Commissioner lieutenant general, Nhanhla Mkhwanazi, announced to the media that the authorities had identified the suspects who shot AKA and his friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

Mkhwanazi told an international publication on Thursday, 24 August, that they were building up a “solid” case and had been able to identify cars that had been on scene at the time of the rapper’s death outside of a popular restaurant in Durban, KZN, in February this year.

The police are investigating the owners of the vehicles, believing that the individuals are connected to the shootings.

However, Mkhwanazi reinforced that the officers were ensuring they had all of the details in order before proceeding, saying: “We do not want to go to court with a half-cooked case or few arrests.”
