AmaZulu, Chiefs Target Maritzburg United Star

Two Premier Soccer League teams are in hot pursuit of soon-to-be-free agent, Rowan Human.

Despite the remarkable prowess he displayed last season, Human was noticeably excluded from the Maritzburg United squad that participated in the ongoing KZN Premier’s Cup, which suggests that the 22-year-old midfielder may find himself at another club in the near future.

Per reports, AmaZulu FC and Kaizer Chiefs are leading the race to acquire Human’s signature. Both clubs have already tabled offers to Maritzburg, but AmaZulu’s is said to be far more substantial.

“Chiefs looked destined to sign Human until AmaZulu made an enticing offer for the player,” one source explained to a local media outlet. “Chiefs’ offer is still on the table and it is now up to Maritzburg to make a decision regarding who they will be selling to. The player’s preference will also be taken into consideration.”

When the same outlet reached out to Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia for comment, he remained mum: “Well, I cannot comment on who the player is likely to join or transfers until the paperwork is done. The news will come out soon if it is the right club. That is all I can say at the moment.”
