Ansu Fati Makes Surprising Transfer Move
Ansu Fati has taken his footballing fate into his own hands and has made the move from Barcelona to Brighton & Hove Albion.
According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur were closing in on bagging the 20-year-old forward on a loan deal from Barcelona, but the latest news across social media is that he has gone with the Seagulls.
Fabrizio Romano, a well-known transfer expert, shared the news via Twitter on Wednesday night, 30 August.
Romano claims that Brighton and Barca’s coach, Roberto De Zerbi, made a verbal agreement with the footballer and the Catalan Giants, which includes: Fati will be on loan to the English Premier League club until June next year; most of his nearly €14-million annual salary will be covered; and the contract will have no purchase clause.
Travel arrangements for Fati are booked for today, Thursday 31 August, due to their eagerness to conclude the deal.
The youngster from Guinea-Bissau made his debut for Barcelona in 2019, and has made 80 appearances while scoring 22 goals across all competitions to date.
