Arsenal, Liverpool Suffer Embarrassing Defeats

Manchester City have been catapulted to the top of the English Premier League (EPL) after Arsenal and Liverpool both suffered shameful defeats in England last night, Sunday 14 April.

The Citizens hosted Luton Town in an unforgettable match the day before at Etihad Stadium in Manchester. After a hard and fast battle, the hosts walked away from the match with a cool 5-1 victory.

Liverpool, on the other hand, wasn’t as lucky as they hosted Crystal Palace at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool on Sunday. The visitors proudly claimed a 1-0 win, leaving some Reds fans feeling shell-shocked.

However, it was Arsenal who had the most embarrassing encounter, as the former EPL leaders also hosted Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium in London. Gunners fans could be seen filing out of the stadium well before the final whistle rang out, bringing the scoreboard to a 2-0 close.

As a result of the weekend’s festivities, Man City are currently sitting at the top of the EPL table with 73 points. Just two points behind them sit Arsenal and Liverpool respectively.

With just over a month left in the EPL season, each match will be vital for the English teams as they battle for the championship title.
