Barca Targets Nigerian Striker as Aguero’s Replacement

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing the Nigerian forward, Umar Sadiq, as a possible replacement for Sergio Aguero, during the January transfer window.

Arguero has been ruled out for three months with the possibility of hanging up his boots, following a heart arrhythmia diagnosis.

Barca has been weighing its options, with high profile players such as Raheem Sterling, Edinson Cavani, and Timo Werner linked with the move to Camp Nou.

However, the club’s financial state might not afford senior players, which may see the Catalans looking for cheaper options like Sadiq.

The Blaugrana are set to pay €25m for the 24-year-old Nigerian international – who is currently the most valuable player in the La Liga lower league, Segunda Division.
