Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Wed in Las Vegas

What Bennifer fans have been waiting for for nearly two decades has finally happened: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have tied the knot.

The 52-year-old “If You Had My Love” hitmaker confirmed that she and her 49-year-old long-time squeeze secretly got married in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, 16 July.

The Clark County Clerk’s Office in Nevada confirms the marriage in their records, and JLo even took on her fourth husband’s last name to officially become Mrs Jennifer Affleck.

She shared the happy news – and signed off with her new name – on her official website: “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”

On Sunday morning, 17 July, the new Mrs Affleck shared a selfie in bed wearing her large wedding ring, and an even larger smile.

The pair had started dating in 2002, and were engaged by November of that year. A wedding in September 2003 was on the cards, but by January 2004 everything had been called off.

Fast forward two decades later, the couple rekindled their relationship and started seeing each other again in April 2021. Twelve months later they were engaged, and this time they made good on the promise.
