Bindi Irwin Remembers Her Father 15 Years Later
Bindi Irwin paid tribute to her father, Steve Irwin, a decade and a half after his passing.
On Saturday, 4 September, the 23-year-old conservationist shared a sweet Instagram post in remembrance of her larger-than-life father.
The late wildlife expert died from a stingray attack while filming a documentary about Australia’s Great Barrier Reef in 2006. He was 44-years-old.
In the tender tribute, Bindi shared an image of her five-month-old daughter, Grace Warrior, along with a photo of the “Crocodile Hunter” – a nickname by which Irwin was affectionately known as – and herself when she was five-years-old.
In the caption, she wrote: “This sweetheart has been watching her ‘Grandpa Crocodile’ on the projector at our camp here on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve. She lights up when she sees him on screen.”
Bindi reflected: “I wish with all my heart that Dad could hug my beautiful girl. It’s been 15 years since he passed away. I hold on to the thought that he’s her guardian angel now, watching over the most special part of my life, Grace Warrior.”
