Bomb Scare Ruins Donald’s Listening Party
Donald Moatshe’s album-listening party in Johannesburg hit a snag following a bomb scare.
The 36-year-old Afro-soul singer had scheduled the event to promote his new album, “Dreams”, at Rosebank Mall at 18:30 on Thursday, 21 October. Unfortunately, it was cancelled when the mall received warning of a bomb threat.
In a social media statement, the mall explained: “We have been approached with a threat and local authorities have requested that we evacuate the mall as of 4:50pm today, 21 October 2021. We will update you as soon as the mall is open and it is safe to re-enter. Thank you.”
Donald took to Twitter afterwards, saying that he was safe.
He wrote: “God speaks in a different way and I always have to listen, Police came in evacuating everyone from The Rosebank mall and surrounding buildings, management had no choice but to cancel my Album Launch [sic].”
He added: “Eish, but everything happens for a reason.”
Rosebank Mall has since been declared safe and open to shoppers; this is the second time this week that the mall has received a bomb threat.
