Bucs Consider Renewing Makhaula’s Contract
Reports indicate that Orlando Pirates are renewing the contract of veteran midfielder, Makhehlene Makhaula.
After arriving from AmaZulu FC in 2023, Makhaula has been praised as a dependable player and a leader, both on the field and in the locker room. To date, he has netted one goal in 52 appearances across all competitions, while also offering support and sharing his expertise with younger players when needed.
Although Makhaula is 35-years-old and his contract with the Bucs is expiring in June this year, sources indicate that the Soweto giants have already drawn up a one-year contract extension for him.
“It’s true that Makhaula’s contract with Pirates expires in June, but the club is busy finalising his contract and will be invited to sign soon,” one of the sources divulged to a soccer outlet earlier this month.
At this point, it is unclear whether negotiations between Pirates and Makhaula are already underway.
