Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Miss SA Unveils Pageant Outfits
Reigning Miss South Africa, Ndavi Nokeri, will be participating in the 71st Miss Universe beauty pageant next year in New Orleans, Louisiana, and she’s going with a stunning wardrobe in tow!
On Tuesday, 6 December, the official Twitter page for Miss South Africa revealed Nokeri’s national costume that she’ll be donning for the prestigious event:
The main outfit, a colourful Tsonga-inspired ensemble to reflect Nokeri’s heritage, was designed by Sello Medupe of Scalo Designs, while the African-flagged wings were crafted by Henk Henderson of Henderson Worx.
So far, the reactions to the outfit have been mixed, from absolutely loving it …
… to loathing it, in particular the dress-length and the wings:
@Official_MissSA also unveiled her farewell gown, a golden number dripping in beads and precious stones, which was designed by Juan Visser of Juan William Aria (who will also be designing her preliminary and finale gowns):
Although tweeps mostly love the dress, they took issue with one thing:
Who knows, things may change between now and when Nokeri finally graces the Miss Universe stage. We wouldn’t mind seeing those wings in action, after all!
