Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Shebeshxt Caught Stabbing Fan on Camera

If loadshedding, fights over VAT and Afrikaans “refugees” leaving South Africa for the USA (AKA the “nation of [deported] immigrants”) hasn’t filled your facepalming quota yet, the news about rapper Shebeshxt stabbing a fan might just help you reach your target.

Over the weekend, a video of the “Ambulance” hitmaker – real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke – has been making the rounds on social media: in it, he’s apparently in a nightclub with other patrons when he gets into a heated altercation with a fan.

Shebeshxt is seen standing over a seated fan who’s wearing white clothing. After a heated verbal exchange, the 28-year-old rapper pulls out a large knife and appears to stab the fan, who attempts to flee. The man in orange standing next to Shebeshxt throughout the clip looks like he tried to de-escalate the situation, albeit to no avail.

Once the video went viral, netizens have been up in arms, none more so than the folks on Twitter/X. Suggestions of seeking professional help were drowned out by calls for his arrest (with a sprinkle of public justice involved):

Many tweeps called for his fans to cancel him, but others believe #CancelCulture won’t prevail this time and that the cycle would just continue unless legal measures are taken:

The rest are worried that Shebeshxt could face a fate worse than jail-time, comparing him to the late US rapper/gangster King Von:

So far, Shebeshxt hasn’t commented on the video, nor has there been any word about the fan’s condition or if the South African Police Service are taking action against the “Cinderella” musician. Either way, we just hope he will turn his life around, otherwise we’ll be facepalming all the way to the next century.
