Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Tweeps Melt Down Over Siya and Rachel Kolisi’s Divorce

When times are tough, rugby is one of those sports that can unite South Africans in positivity. Now, one of the biggest break-ups in rugby’s history has got the Rainbow Nation united in sadness and despair!

Since 2016, Springboks captain Siya Kolisi and his wife, Rachel, had Mzansi believing that true love was real, and that their marriage was going to last until the end of time itself.

That all changed on Tuesday, 22 October, when the couple dropped a bombshell statement on both of their socials:

Yes, you read it right – the Kolisis are ending their marriage.

The reason behind their unexpected split is unknown, but they promise to “remain great friends and committed partners” as they raise their two children, Nicholas and Keziah, as well as Siya’s younger half-siblings, Liyema and Liphelo.

Honestly, it’s sad to see good things like the Kolisis’ marriage coming to an end. But as long as they’re still on friendly terms – especially for the kids – and if it means there’s a chance of happiness for both of them down the road, then we can only support their decision.
