Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Tweeps Question Maglera Doe Boy’s Pics

It’s amazing that even now in 2024, the year of our Lord, there are still people who feel some type of way regarding others’ sexual orientations.

Local rapper Maglera Doe Boy had online trolls questioning his sexuality when @its_thembaa shared a pic of the “Makazana” hitmaker hugging it out with one of his male friends on Monday, 15 April:

Cue the confused and slightly homophobic responses (with references to US rapper Diddy, whose own alleged sexual escapades have been making the rounds in the news recently):

@Tony_Bhasoni tried to justify Maglera’s actions, though we can’t help but feel that they’re not exactly supportive of the LGBTQIA+ community, either (especially if they’re using “gay” as an offensive term, as it appears here):

Eventually, Maglera dropped this tweet, along with this photo:

He followed up with another tweet:

Quite deep words, especially in a world where softness, kindness and affection are overlooked in favour of toughness, resilience and power, particularly in cultures that practise staunch ideals.

Of course, it didn’t stop some haters from assuming Maglera’s sexuality once more:

At least he also garnered some support:

At the end of the day, people’s sexual orientations are of no business to anyone else. If Maglera is making peeps uncomfortable by showing platonic love to his male friends, then clearly those same peeps don’t know how to show love to people (and to themselves!) in general.
