Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Tyla Earns Tweeps’ Love for “Late Show” Performance

Mic? On. Vocals? Stunning. Song? A vibe. Tyla? She ate that performance UP.

That’s how the tweeps on Twitter/X are feeling right now after Mzansi’s own Tyla appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday, 9 April.

The Grammy-winning singer performed a rendition of her latest single, “ART”, and she served viewers with a visual AND vocal treat:

Yes, queen! And the choreography and mood lighting definitely pulls everything together!

Most tweeps agreed that the “Water” hitmaker gave a performance worthy of a superstar:

Of course, there were folks who weren’t all that impressed, given that “ART” sounds too similar to “Water” and “Truth or Dare”:

A valid opinion. After all, it’s nice to switch up the music production once in a while so that one’s songs don’t sound like copy-and-paste versions of each other.

At the same time, though, this is Tyla’s sound, uniquely hers, fresh off her eponymous debut album – imagine telling Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga or a rock band to switch up the formula on their albums that’s MEANT to adhere to a certain genre and convey a certain sound/theme throughout.

Regardless, it can be agreed that Tyla has the makings of a global phenomenon:

And you know what? We love to see it!
