Drake Struck With Flying Phone During Gig
Drake started his huge “It’s All A Blur” Tour on Wednesday, 5 July, and already he’s making headlines – not just for the spectacular gig presentation, but also due to a fan flinging their cell phone at him during the show.
Amidst the fully decked-out stage glamour – which included an elaborate hologram set-up, a statue of late designer Virgil Abloh and enough lights to rival Las Vegas – at the United Centre in Chicago, Illinois, the 36-year-old rapper and his crew spared no expense to entertain the crowd.
However, at one point during his rendition of Ginuwine’s “So Anxious”, the “Nice for What” hitmaker was pelted on the arm with a phone thrown by a fan. The incident was caught on video, with Drake looking perplexed at what had just happened but continuing to sing.
That didn’t stop the festivities as the 48-song set list continued through the night, including time for Drake to take a brief stab at Childish Gambino’s 2018 hit, “This is America”, calling it “overrated”.
The tour, which is also co-headed by Atlanta rapper 21 Savage, is expected to conclude on 9 October at the Schottenstein Centre located on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio.
