Ed Sheeran Catches Covid-19
English musician Ed Sheeran has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
The 30-year-old singer-songwriter shared the sad news on Sunday, 24 October, via his Instagram account.
The “I’m a Mess” hitmaker said: “Quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for [COVID-19], so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines.”
He apologetically added: “It means that I’m now unable to plough ahead with any in-person commitments for now, so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house.”
The illness will no doubt affect the promotion of Sheeran’s upcoming fourth album, “Equals”, which is set to be released on Friday, 29 October. His last solo album, “Divide”, came out four years ago.
Amongst a multitude of promotional events, he was also due to appear as a guest on “Saturday Night Live” on 6 November.
It has not been clarified yet if the future concert dates across the United Kingdom and Europe for April 2022 will be replaced, or changed to a streamed appearance.
