Erik ten Hag Facing Possible Pay Cut

If Erik ten Hag stays on as manager of Manchester United beyond the 2023/2024 season, he could expect to take a 25% pay cut, according to sources.

An anonymous informant spoke with an international publication on Wednesday, 24 April, revealing that the heads of the club were unhappy that the Red Devils had failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

The team have also had a rocky English Premier League season, as they are currently sitting in sixth place on the table with just 53 points.

United were able to narrowly secure themselves a spot in the Football Association Challenge Cup final, but their inconsistent and often blundering performances has only put further scrutiny on the 53-year-old Dutchman.

Ten Hag – who joined Old Trafford in May 2022 after exiting Ajax – is currently on a three-year contract with the club. However, sources suggest that management is already lining up possible replacements for him.

Man United will have a few precious opportunities to end the season with some dignity, one of which will be tomorrow, Saturday 27 April, as they take on Burnley at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester, England.
