Eriksen Eyes Man U Exit, New Challenges

Christian Eriksen has confirmed he is looking for “something new” and will be leaving Manchester United at the end of the season.

The Danish midfielder, who joined United in 2022 after a brief spell at Brentford, is now exploring new opportunities amid reports claiming that the club is not looking to offer him a contract extension.

“I’m ready to look for something new,” Eriksen told reporters ahead of Denmark’s Nations League match against Portugal tonight, Thursday 20 March.

Since his move to Old Trafford, the 33-year-old footballer has made 99 appearances, scoring seven goals and playing a key role in the Red Devils’ Football Association Cup triumph last season. However, he has struggled for consistent playing time under the management of Ruben Amorim.

While Eriksen has ruled out a return to Denmark or a move to North America’s Major League Soccer, he remains open to a potential return to Dutch club, Ajax, where he previously spent five years.

“No, I’m not closing the door on anything. I’ll wait and see what offers come along; I won’t make a hasty decision, but if the right opportunity arises, I’ll take it,” he stated.
