Everton Crushed By Newcastle

Everton was dealt an embarrassing 4-1 defeat at home by Newcastle United on Thursday night, 27 April.

The two teams went head-to-head at Goodison Park Stadium in Liverpool, England with a sea of eager Toffee fans looking on.

However, just 28 minutes into the match, hope began to fade as Newcastle striker, Callum Wilson, claimed the first goal. A medical team was briefly called onto the field when Magpies defender Kieran Trippier and his Toffees counterpart Vitalii Mykolenko collided in the 42nd minute.

Things began to pick up in the 72nd minute when striker Joelinton scored the second goal for Newcastle, with the help of midfielder Joe Willock. A mere three minutes later, Wilson brought the scoreboard to 3-0.

Everton striker Dwight McNeil claimed a solitary goal for his side at the 80-minute mark. However, just one minute later, Magpie midfielder Jacob Murphy squashed any remaining hope with the final goal of the game.

“Simply not good enough. No football intelligence or imagination, not enough skill, a squad of mediocrity,” an Everton fan named Steve told an international publication when they were asked about the match.

The loss puts the Toffees – who currently have 28 points on the English Premier League table – further into the doomed relegation zone.
