Floyd Mayweather Jr. to Fight Logan Paul in 2021
Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is once again coming out of retirement to partake in an exhibition bout against an unlikely opponent: YouTube personality, Logan Paul.
The 43-year-old engaged mixed martial artist Conor McGregor in a boxing match in 2017 before hanging up his gloves; a year later, he took part in an exhibition bout with Japanese kickboxer, Tenshin Nasukawa.
Now, as reported on Sunday, 6 December, through his social media accounts, Mayweather Jr. will officially face the 25-year-old YouTuber on 20 February next year at an undetermined venue.
The boxer previously spoke about fighting Paul, saying: “These YouTube girls better find some Barbie dolls to play with ‘cause I’m not the one for the kid games … Logan Paul can get the same treatment [that I gave McGregor] before I go conquer Japan again.”
Paul – who is best known for his controversial vlogs and juvenile humour – has only participated in one professional boxing match against fellow YouTuber, KSI, which he lost in 2019 via split decision.
More details about the Paul-Mayweather Jr. bout will be released in due course.
