Gabby Petito: Human Remains Discovered in Forest

Human remains matching the description of missing “van life” vlogger, Gabby Petito, have been found.

On Sunday, 19 September, police officers and members of the FBI discovered the remains at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. An autopsy will be conducted today, Tuesday 21 September, to determine its identity.

On 11 September, 22-year-old Petito – who posted video content about living out of a van on YouTube – was reported missing three months after she and her fiance, Brian Laundrie, embarked on a country-country road trip.

Ten days earlier, 23-year-old Laundrie returned home in North Port, Florida without her.

His behaviour, along with strange text messages sent from Petito’s cellphone – including one from August, in which she unusually referred to her grandfather by his first name Stan – has prompted her family and others to believe that something ominous went down between the couple during the trip.

Laundrie has since become “a person of interest” in the case, which continues to be investigated by the authorities.
