Gavin Hunt Provides Update on Terrence Dzvukamanja

The reason why SuperSport United striker, Terrence Dzvukamanja, is missing in action has been revealed.

Dzvukamanja was conspicuously absent last Friday, 15 December, when SuperSport claimed a 2-1 DStv Premiership victory over Moroka Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

In the post-match press conference, coach Gavin Hunt explained that the 29-year-old Zimbabwean striker was in recovery after sustaining an injury during their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Al Hilal Benghazi in Benina, Libya last Sunday, 10 December.

“Terrence got a hell of a knock in Libya,” said Hunt. “It was a big blow because he gives me so many options – he can play wide as well for us, you know?”

The extent of Dzvukamanja’s injury, plus how long it will take for him to recover, is not yet known.

SuperSport will be back in Confederation Cup action – once again, their opponents are Al Hilal Benghazi – tonight, Wednesday 20 December, at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo.
