Goalless Kane Frustrated with Tottenham Loss
Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 3–0 loss to Chelsea on Sunday, 19 September, but the biggest worry on coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s mind is the wandering eye of Harry Kane.
The 28-year-old star striker has started the English Premier League 2021/22 season without a single goal, and his shoddy form left him looking awkward on the field during his side’s lacklustre performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Santo believes that poor team-bonding is the reason for his team’s rough campaign start; however, there are claims that Kane is still sore over an ill-attempted move to Manchester City during the transfer window.
It’s fairly obvious that the English skipper was – and is still – keen to have City sign him, but the deal fell through, and it reflected in his body language during the past few games.
Right after the match, English sports commentator, Gary Neville, had a few insightful words on his podcast: “It’s never easy when a player wants to leave your club and everyone in the ground and in the dressing room knows that he wants to leave. Things aren’t going well.”
Kane has been with Tottenham since 2010 when he signed his first professional contract. Since then, he has made 246 appearances and picked up 166 goals.
