Inno Morolong Sentenced to House Arrest

Socialite, influencer and reality TV star, Inno Morolong, has been sentenced to 12 months of house arrest.

Back in 2023, Morolong accused her former friend, actress Tebogo Thobejane, of being involved in illegal activities, including scamming, sex work and using traditional medicines known as “muthi.” In response, Thobejane filed a defamation lawsuit against her.

Last December, the Randburg Magistrates’ Court in Johannesburg, Gauteng, found the 32-year-old “Diamond & Dolls” star guilty of crimen injuria and defamation.

On Wednesday, 29 January, Morolong was sentenced to house arrest, where she will be closely monitored and confined to her residence in Welkom, Free State, from 6PM to 6AM on non-working days for the next 12 months.

She is only allowed to leave her residence for mandatory monthly community service and attending life skills programmes, as well as hospital appointments and religious services. Additionally, she is prohibited from consuming alcohol or illegal substances during her house arrest.

Any breach of the conditions of her house arrest – or any similar offences committed during this probationary period – will result in Morolong’s immediate imprisonment.

Thobejane expressed her happiness about the sentencing in a subsequent Instagram post, writing: “Let this be a reminder that stalking, harassment and bullying are serious offenses. No one should have to endure intimidation or feel unsafe because of someone else’s actions.”
