Jack Wilshere to Hold Talks with Arsenal
Jack Wilshere plans to speak with Arsenal about potentially rejoining the club.
The 29-year-old English midfielder is currently a free agent after he was released from AFC Bournemouth, for whom he only scored two goals in 17 appearances. Three years prior, he played for the Gunners alongside former team-mate and current manager, Mikel Arteta.
Earlier this month, Arteta said in an interview that the “doors are always open” for Wilshere to train at – and potentially sign with – the club.
Now, in an interview with a British media outlet on Tuesday, 14 September, Wilshere responded to the Spaniard’s remarks with enthusiasm.
He said: “I spent the majority of my life in that club … To hear the manager – who I played with, who I had a good relationship with, I really enjoyed playing with him, sharing the dressing room with him – to hear him come out and say the door is always open is nice.”
Wilshere added: “I’m sure that I’ll have a conversation with someone at the club over the next couple of days.”
