Jesse Lingard Loaned Out to West Ham
Manchester United attacking midfielder, Jesse Lingard, is heading to West Ham United for the rest of the English Premier League season.
According to recent reports, the Hammers reached a deal with the Red Devils regarding the 28-year-old’s services, with the loan fee amounting to approximately £1.5 million. Additionally, they will cover his £75 000-a-week wages.
For the past few months, Lingard – whose senior career began at Man United in 2011 – has fallen down the pecking order at the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s management, and has yet to make an appearance this season.
However, because of squad numbers being depleted due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic, Solskjaer was keen to keep Lingard at the club.
Per reports, Lingard rejected offers from the likes of Newcastle and West Brom, before deciding on a move to West Ham.
He is expected to undergo a medical in Manchester before travelling to London to complete the move today, Friday 29 January.
