Jub Jub to Sue Amanda Du-Pont and Masechaba Khumalo

Under-fire rapper, Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye, plans to sue Amanda Du-Pont and Masechaba Khumalo after they accused him of rape and sexual assault.

Last Thursday, 2 December, Du-Pont claimed in an Instagram video that Jub Jub had raped and emotionally abused her during over a two-year period. Adding fuel to the fire, Khumalo also accused the rapper of raping her at some point during their previous relationship.

Jub Jub has since been suspended by channel Moja Love as the host of the popular show, “Uyajola 9/9”, pending the allegations.

On Sunday, 5 December, it was reported by local media outlets that Jub Jub wants both the “Skeem Saam” actress and the radio personality – as well as his cousin, Refilwe Khumalo, and social entrepreneur Refilwe Khumalo – to retract their accusations or face the legal consequences.

In a statement released through the family spokesperson, it read: “[Jub Jub] will be opening a case of crimen injuria and defamation against [these women]. They have been pulled in to campaign against our son by Amanda du Pont [sic] on her social media page. Molemo, our son, and his management team will not leave the claims unattended.”

The women have yet to comment on Jub Jub’s legal stance.
