LA Court Ruling Has Britney Spears Cartwheeling
Britney Spears is cartwheeling – literally – for joy after scoring a win during her conservatorship battle.
For 13 years, the “Stronger” hitmaker’s father, Jamie Spears, has been responsible for a majority of her $60-million estate, following her heavily publicised personal issues. Last November, she filed court documents to remove him from the position.
On Wednesday, 14 July, a Los Angeles judge ruled that Spears could hire her own representation after Samuel Ingham III – her court-appointed lawyer since 2008 – resigned from his role last week.
Her new lawyer has been identified as Mathew Rosengart, a well-known Hollywood attorney.
That same day, Spears took to Instagram, posting video footage of her performing cartwheels near a pond. The clip also shows her riding a horse.
In the caption, the 39-year-old songstress gleefully wrote: “Coming along, folks … New with real representation today … I feel GRATITUDE and BLESSED !!!! [sic] Thank you to my fans who are supporting me … You have no idea what it means to me be supported by such awesome fans !!!! [sic]”
Although the battle is far from over, it certainly is a step – or cartwheel – in the right direction of #FreeBritney.
