Leeds Land Daniel James
Transfer deadline day ends at 11PM tonight, and it looks like Leeds United have bagged themselves a new player just in time.
On Tuesday morning, 31 August, British sports outlets reported that Leeds had signed Manchester United winger, Daniel James, for £25 million.
Personal terms have apparently been agreed upon, while the length of his new contract has yet to be disclosed.
James was previously set to join the Whites on loan from Swansea City in January 2019, but the deal collapsed, allowing the Red Devils to swoop in for his signature. Nevertheless, Marcelo Bielsa – Leeds’ head coach – has kept his eye on the 23-year-old Welshman ever since.
With the incoming return of Cristiano Ronaldo, James may find himself struggling for playing time at United, so the move to Leeds comes at the right time, undoubtedly to Bielsa’s delight.
James is due to undergo a medical this morning before flying out with the Welsh national team to play a friendly match against Finland tomorrow, Wednesday 1 September.
