Leny Yoro in UK for Medical and Possible Man U Deal

Manchester United is set to sign Lille defender Leny Yoro for £50 million.

The highly-regarded, 18-year-old “generational talent” flew to Manchester, England on Wednesday, 17 July, to undergo a medical. Despite links to Real Madrid, no formal interest was shown by the Spanish club.

Yoro, a France Under-21 international, is expected to sign a five-year contract, which includes performance-based bonuses. This potential move follows United’s recent acquisition of 23-year-old Dutch striker, Joshua Zirkzee, from Bologna.

The club’s transfer activity continues with possible deals for Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite. Terms with de Ligt have reportedly been agreed upon, while negotiations for Branthwaite’s valuation are ongoing.

Additionally, United is in contact with Paris Saint-Germain for Uruguayan midfielder, Manuel Ugarte, as part of a midfield overhaul. Speculation also surrounds the futures of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro and English defender Harry Maguire, who may leave the club after a challenging 2023/24 season.

These moves indicate United’s aggressive approach in strengthening their squad for the upcoming season, aiming to bounce back from recent difficulties.
