Locatelli Joins Juventus on Loan
It’s official: Manuel Locatelli is leaving U.S. Sassuolo Calcio and heading for Juventus FC on loan.
Per a statement on Juve’s official website on Wednesday, 18 August, the 23-year-old midfielder signed a two-year contract worth €25 million, payable within three years.
Sassuolo agreed to the temporary acquisition until 30 June 2023, which included an addition stating: “A maximum of €12.5 million of cumulative bonuses are envisaged upon achievement of further sporting performance objectives.”
Locatelli saw 34 appearances and bagged two goals for Sassuolo in the previous season, his third season with the Italian side overall.
He initially started his professional career with AC Milan in 2016, appearing 67 times and finding the back of the net on four occasions during his time at San Siro, until Sassuolo snatched him up on loan in 2019.
This is Juventus’ second transfer after securing Brazilian striker, Kaio Jorge, from Santos FC on Tuesday, 17 August, for €3 million.
