Man City Reach UCL Final
For the first time in history, Manchester City are on their way to the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final.
The Citizens sealed their place in the final after beating visitors Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 in a semi-final match-up at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening, 4 May.
It was winger Riyad Mahrez who scored the crucial double for the English outfit, first by putting them on the scoreboard in the 11th minute, before registering a second goal at the 63rd minute.
With a 4-1 aggregate win, they are now poised to face either Chelsea or Real Madrid at the UCL final in Istanbul, Turkey on 29 May.
City coach, Pep Guardiola, was full of praise for his team after the match, saying: “We beat a team that knocked out Barcelona and Bayern Munich. We struggled early on but were much better in the second half. It was an incredible, huge victory for us.”
He added: “What the players have done this season is incredible in the toughest year for everyone. Being so close to winning the Premier League and in the final of the Champions League is so good.”
