Man United: Raphael Varane “Out for a Few Weeks”
France star, Raphael Varane, is facing time on the sidelines after suffering a groin injury.
The 28-year-old defender sustained the injury during his side’s UEFA Nations League final match against Spain on Sunday, 10 October, specifically during the first half. France went on to beat La Roja 2-1.
On Tuesday, 12 October, Manchester United provided an update on Varane’s status on their official website.
They explained: “[Varane] has commenced rehabilitation at the club. He will be out for a few weeks … Everybody at United would like to wish Raphael a speedy recovery.”
This injury comes as a blow to United, who are also without captain Harry MacGuire, who is rehabbing from a calf-related injury. His partnership with Varane on the pitch bolstered the club’s defence, but now their joint absence will no doubt weaken it.
Nevertheless, the Red Devils must make do without the pair when they take on Leicester City this Saturday, 16 October, before meeting Atalanta four days later.
