Man United Secure Mason Mount

Manchester United are shaking things up with their latest signing, as Mason Mount is slated to join from Chelsea.

According to reports, United agreed to a five-year deal worth £55 million, plus five million pounds in add-ons, for the 24-year-old midfielder on Thursday, 29 June. Mount is expected to attend a medical check-up in the next few days as they seek to finalise the move.

After making his English Premier League debut (EPL) with the Blues in 2019, Mount has made an impressive 195 appearances for the club, and scored 33 goals.

During his time with Chelsea, the star was on hand to watch the club win the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. However, in the 2022/2023 season, he seemed to struggle with form and saw his team slide to 12th place on the EPL table – their lowest finish in over 25 years.

The Blues have also been forced to reduce their squad size by today, Friday 30 June, according to the Financial Fair Play rules, adding an extra push for the sale to happen quickly.

The Red Devils, on the other hand, with be a move back up the EPL rankings for Mason as they finished last season in third place, just after Manchester City first and Arsenal in second.
