Marcus Rashford Nudges Closer to Possible Man United Exit
Marcus Rashford’s sinking fortunes might see him leave Manchester United, if recent developments are any indication.
A dip in form has dogged the 26-year-old forward since his stellar 2022/23 season, where he netted 17 English Premier League (EPL) goals. The previous campaign, however, saw him manage just seven, and he has yet to score this season.
As a result, Rashford was omitted from England’s Euro 2024 squad, and England interim manager, Lee Carsley, has also left him out of this month’s international games.
Former footballing icons, Alan Shearer and Chris Waddle, believe Rashford needs a fresh start away from United to revive his career. Shearer suggested that Rashford has stagnated at Old Trafford, and needs to focus on his training and attitude if he wants to return to top form.
Waddle echoed Shearer’s thoughts, while adding that the Red Devils missed the opportunity to sell him when his value was at its peak.
“I don’t know whether it’s a lack of desire or passion, it just feels as if he’s not even on the pitch sometimes,” Waddle told a local footballing news outlet earlier this week.
