Moja Love: Jub Jub Must Apologise to Kelly Khumalo
Rapper and “Uyajola 9/9” host, Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye, has been issued an ultimatum by popular TV channel, Moja Love, in light of his controversial comments about Kelly Khumalo.
Appearing on an episode of MacG’s podcast, “Podcast And Chill”, last December, Jub Jub accused his baby mama Khumalo of practising witchcraft and using traditional medicine – or “muti” – to lure him into a love affair.
For these allegations, among a slew of other comments he made, Jub Jub was suspended by Moja Love.
Now, in an internal memo dated 1 February (which was obtained by a local media outlet most recently), Aubrey Tau – the CEO of Moja Love – told senior producers that the rapper must apologise or risk facing the axe from his hosting gig.
“His ill-advised comments have reached the highest level of decision-makers in this industry,” wrote Tau. “He needs to apologise to Ms Kelly Khumalo and three different [anti-gender-based violence] organisations for the hurtful comments. He should also undergo sensitivity training.
“He needs to reflect and learn about the impact of his comments. This process should not be wishy-washy; it should be taken seriously because of the comments Jub Jub made and his history.”
Neither Jub Jub nor his legal team have commented on Tau’s ultimatum.
