Mourinho Once Snuck out of Training Ground in Car Boot
It has come to light that Jose Mourinho was smuggled out of Chelsea’s training ground in the trunk of his assistant’s car after his dismissal in December 2015, while a member of his staff was used as bait to distract the media.
The Portuguese manager’s tenure at Stamford Bridge ended poorly with the Blues losing nine of their 16 opening Premier League games – which left the club occupying the last spot above relegation on the EPL table.
The newly self-proclaimed “Experienced One” was then shown the exit, immediately after a staff Christmas lunch in the Cobham canteen.
The 67-year-old tactician was in no mood to address reporters following his unexpected discharge and therefore a plan was devised for him to leave the base without the media noticing.
Chelsea’s player liaison officer, Kevin Campello, pretended to be Mourinho and was driven out of the training ground in the manager’s car – covering his face with a hoodie and wearing Mourinho’s expensive watch.
After the photographers took the bait, and chased after Campello, Mourinho made his secret exit in the boot of the SUV owned by Silvino Louro, and left undetected an hour and half later.
This means that the famous image of Mourinho leaving in shame was faked, and was actually a photo of Kevin Campello.
