Mourinho Sacked by Tottenham Hotspur
Former Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho, has been fired by Tottenham Hotspur just a few days before the club’s Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.
The self-acclaimed ‘Special One’ has now been turned into the ‘Fired One’ – the 53-year-old football tactician was fired by Manchester United in 2018, Chelsea in 2015, and now by the Lilywhites.
Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019 and finished in the 6th position of the 2019/20 Premier League season.
However, the Portuguese manager has lost seven of the Spurs’ previous 14 EPL games, 2 have ended in a draw, and they have won just five matches.
The club is now in doubt of finishing the EPL season in the top four and might not qualify for the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League.
According to the statement released by Tottenham, Mourinho and his entire coaching staff have all been relieved of their duties.
The Spurs said: “The club can today announce that Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra have been relieved of their duties.”
Despite his poor performance, Mourinho remains one of the managers with the most trophies under his belt.
