Musicians Honoured in Rolling Stone’s 2024 Top Albums
Nigerian music continues to dominate the global stage as Rema, Tems, and Ayra Starr secure spots on Rolling Stone’s prestigious 100 Best Albums of 2024 list.
Rema’s “HEIS” claimed the 11th spot, making it the highest-ranked Nigerian entry. The album pushes the boundaries of Afrobeats with his unique Afro-Rave sound, earning him critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Album.
Tems’ highly anticipated debut, “Born in the Wild”, ranked 37th, blending Afro-R&B, highlife, and amapiano. Known for her emotive vocals and genre-blending style, Tems also received Grammy nods for Best African Music Performance and Best R&B Song.
Ayra Starr’s “The Year I Turned 21” landed at number 53. The album showcases her youthful energy and maturity, blending Afrobeats with relatable songwriting and multilingual finesse.
